Trouble in food land

This is what I sent to President Obama in response to the recent deregulation of GM alfalfa:


Hello,

I am emailing you from Canada, where bees and wind arrives daily from the
US! Please be more responsible and don't bow to the big money makers who
are saying their way is the only way to make food. There is another
way..... people have to be able to have the choice and once GM Alfalfa is
in the field we cannot control where it goes.... and WE DON"T WANT IT.
Farmers are telling you they don't want it either as are scientists.
Please do what we all hoped you'd do when you were elected..... make a
positive change for a healthy future.

Please get all GM crops out of production. We don't want our bodies making
BT just because some apple tree was prepared to fight off bugs with an
ingrown pesticide. AND we can't control the spread of the GM genes to our
organic crops..... I want to be able to continue to say my meat and eggs
and milk and cheese (all animals of which eat our alfalfa) are from
natural sources, not genetically modified.

AND I don't want to be told I have to plough up my field or pay royalties
to Monsanto, if GM genes are found in my field when I didn't even plant
them!

It is absolutely ludicrous how far removed we are from good food. Please
help change that and put food power back in the hands of the people, not
the corporations.
