Winter 2023 First Friday Fiddle Jams
This event is on hold. We need to find some musicians that can commit to a monthly gathering. If you know folks that need a place to gather on a regular basis in a kitchen party setting and want to inspire each other, please let them know this is the place!
We used to host a monthly Fiddle Jam on the First Friday known as the F.F.F. Pizza Jam. It was a Potluck Pizza topping event!! with supper at 5:30 and music at 7:00. We made the dough, Sourdough , as well as the tomato sauce and everyone brought their favorite pizza topping to share. We encouraged gluten free folks to bring their own crusts and come early before the flour starts flying and gets into the toppings (separate table, but you know, kids!!) We hoped for a "leave no trace" attitude and little to no waste. So please: No Single use packaging or pre-shredded cheese. We have graters!!! Please confirm attendance with an email to [email protected]. We will have the cob oven and a fire going to stay warm and cook over. Feel free to help with wood gathering. This is a community effort, so clean up and gather yer things :)
Good Note Fiddle Jam
We make pizzas until 6 or 7. The Fiddle Jam starts at 7. People bring things to share. They bring their own Pizza toppings. They make their own Pizza. There is Gluten free pizzas and snacks.
We sit in a circle and go one by one and each person chooses a song. They lead, starting first and leading the tempo. They tell us what key so the pianos and guitars can chord along. Sometimes there are other instruments like: cello, banjos, mandolins, accordions, harmonicas, dobro, flutes, drums and spoons.
People who aren't playing are sitting down and enjoying the music. They don't dance! Others eat snacks, pillow fight, play foosball, talk and jump on hay bales. My mom made me write this.

"Mom, its so much more fun playing with a big group... you can play songs you don't even know before"!
... and some (small space!) dancing is possible !
